Lakshmi-Puja
Lakshmi Puja is a Hindu religious ritual performed to invoke the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, who is considered the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and good fortune. This puja is particularly significant during the festival of Diwali, the Festival of Lights, but it can be performed on other auspicious occasions as well.
Puja Vidhi (Procedure):
- Begin the puja with the worship of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles.
- Invoke Goddess Lakshmi by chanting mantras and offering flowers, rice, and other symbolic items.
- Light the diyas or candles and incense sticks.
- Offer fruits, sweets, and other delicacies to Goddess Lakshmi.
- Chant Lakshmi mantras like the Lakshmi Gayatri mantra or other relevant mantras.
- Shower the idol or picture of Goddess Lakshmi with Panchamrita.
- Perform aarti (a ritual of waving lighted wicks in front of the deity) and sing hymns in praise of Goddess Lakshmi.
