Japa, the disciplined repetition of a Vedic mantra with count and intention, is the beating heart of Sanatana sadhana. 📅 When to perform

Any auspicious muhurtam. Pre-dawn brahma-muhurta (4:30–6:00 AM) is traditional. Japa anushthana can span 1 day (1008 count), 11 days (1 lakh), 45 days (11 lakh), or 108 days (koti). Start date is ideally on amavasya, purnima, Ekadashi, or the deity's ishta-day.

Which mantra and count should I choose?

Depends on your goal. For health: Mrityunjaya 10008 or 125000. For career: Gayatri 1 lakh or 1 crore. For marriage: Swayamvara Parvati 1008 or 10008. For specific graha: its beej mantra in counts of planet's number (Sun=7000, Moon=11000, etc). Our pandit will prescribe based on your horoscope and need.

Can japa be done on my behalf while I'm at work?

Yes, this is the classical "Paratra Japa" where a qualified pandit performs the japa with your Sankalpa. The punya accrues to you, the sankalpa-dhari. Very common for busy Bangalore professionals.

What is Purusha-Charana and koti-japa?

Purusha-Charana is a precise count of japa, for each mantra, the shastra specifies a count like 1 lakh or 1 crore. Koti-japa is 1 crore (10 million). We arrange teams of pandits for these larger undertakings.

Should japa end with a homa?

Classical shastra prescribes a Purnahuti Homa at the end, 1/10 of the japa count as homa ahutis. This seals the japa energy. We always include this in our packages.
